Learning Materials
The MERLOT Psychology Collection is an ever-growing collection of useful learning materials. Click here to visit MERLOT Psychology. MERLOT defines a learning material or "learning object" as "any digital entity designed to meet a specific learning outcome that can be reused to support learning." As you explore the learning objects in MERLOT, you will find that they come in a variety of "shapes and sizes". For example, you will find quick explanations of the action potential, as well as comprehensive sites designed to teach about all aspects of the nervous system. You are invited to contribute the sites you find valuable, big or small, well-established or controversial, text-based or dynamic. All sites that serve a purpose for teaching psychology are welcome.
Many of the sites have peer reviews attached, reviews designed to simplify your search for the perfect learning object. In addition, you can add comments to sites to inform others and express your views. MERLOT also permits you to develop your own "collection" to facilitate your repeated use of a variety of learning objects or to provide a quick reference source for your students.
